Healthy chocolate chip cookie dough balls

Cookie dough balls make a great portable snack.

Take a handful with you on the way out, or put them in your lunchbox. These babies can be eaten in any way you like!

These are also great for car trips.

The cookie dough balls are gluten-free, sugar-free, dairy-free, vegan, gluten-free, soy-free, and high protein.

Ingredients for cookie dough balls

This recipe only requires five ingredients: chocolate, sweetener, salt, nut butter, and oat or protein powder.

Nut butters such as almonds, cashews, and peanut butter are suitable. Try sunflower or pumpkin seed butter for nut-free cookie dough balls.

Use any sweetener you like, whether it’s honey, maple syrup, or regular sugar.

Add more oats flour if needed to get a cookie-like texture using liquid sweetener rather than granulated.

If you don’t want to use oats, feel free to substitute your favorite protein powder. If you are using a protein powder that is sweetened, adjust the amount of sweetener.

How to make cookie dough bites

Stir everything in a medium-sized bowl until you get a cookie dough texture.

Roll into balls using your hands or cookie scoops.

You can enjoy the cookie dough bites without baking them or bake them.

Preheat the oven to 325° Fahrenheit for baked cookie dough. Bake the dough balls for 8 minutes on a cookie sheet that has been greased or lined.

Storage tips for recipes

These chocolate chip snack balls go quickly!

If you have leftovers, keep them in an airtight jar on your counter for two days or in the fridge for three weeks.

Do you want to have instant cookie dough when a craving strikes? Place the cookie dough balls in a container with a lid and add a piece of parchment paper to each layer. This will prevent them from sticking together.

You can freeze the container for up to four months and then take out a cookie dough ball whenever possible.

Ingredients

Nut butter of choice, 1/2 cup

Half a cup of oat flour, protein powder, or both

Sweetener of your choice, 2 tbsp

1/8 tsp of salt

1/4 cup chocolate chips

Instructions

Stir all ingredients together to create a cookie dough texture. Roll into balls and break into pieces. You can bake the cookie dough balls at 325 F or enjoy them without baking. If you use liquid sweetener instead of granulated sugar, add as much oats flour as necessary to get the texture of cookie dough. If you don’t want to use oats, feel free to substitute your favorite plain or flavor protein powder. Just adjust the amount of sweetener if using sweetened protein powder.
