Everyone, have a great Monday! I know Mondays can be a bit boring and are not everyone’s favorite day of the week, but I hope I can brighten your day with this fun giveaway.
The nice people at Musselman’s sent over a jar of their Apple Butter for me to try. After much research and brainstorming, I decided to use it in a savory recipe.
I was a little skeptical about using it for these open-faced sandwiches, but I was wrong. It gave these sandwiches a wonderful depth of flavor; the combination of flavors was incredible, with the Dijon combining the tanginess of the mustard and a hint of sweetness of the apple butter.
Oh, and the best part is? Musselman’s will also send one lucky Damn Delicious reader their very own Apple Butter along with a few simple recipes and a multi-purpose bowl that you can mix and serve up at your next football gathering.
INGREDIENTS:
- Three ciabatta rolls, halved
- Musselman’s Apple Butter 6 Tablespoons
- Four tablespoons of Dijon mustard
- 1 1/4 pounds deli-sliced pastrami
- 1/4 cup white cheddar cheese shredded
- Chop fresh chives for garnish
DIRECTIONS:
Preheat oven to broil. Line a baking pan with parchment paper and set it aside.
Spread Musselman’s Apple Butter on each roll. Add the pastrami, cheese, and mustard.
Place in oven and broil for about 2 minutes until cheese is melted.
Sprinkle with chives and serve immediately.
