Holy spicy crispiness. This spicy-sweet tofu is delicious, chompy, and sticky. This guy has two main steps:
- Bake the tofu.
- Tofu is a great dish to make.
The end is near! The end! The SOS series has you eating spicy, crunchy, rockstar tofu without much effort.
The tofu can be prepared however you wish, but the recipe calls for the cornstarch method of baking. This is my favorite method and was outlined in the post. The tofu is always crispy and golden. It’s the perfect canvas for any sauce.
This sauce is easy to make.
- Yum Yum sauce
- Chili Crisp
- Honey (optional).
That’s all. You can add a raw clove of garlic to the sauce if you want it extra spicy. It’s okay to leave it alone, as the chili crisp ( Momofuku brand (affiliate links) ) I use has a little garlicky flavor. WE ARE INVITING FLAVOR. Add as much flavor as you like.
The leftovers are great for lunch the next day with a second coat of sauce. We make this a family affair by sautéing the tofu with the Yum Yum sauce for the girls. It is sweet, creamy, and mild, and they absolutely love it.

Instrucciones
- Prep Heat the oven to 425 degrees. Line a baking tray with parchment paper.
- Preparing the Tofu: Cut tofu into two equal, flat pieces. Use a paper towel or towel to press the moisture from the tofu. The more water that you remove from the tofu, the quicker it will crisp in the oven. I don’t usually spend more than five or ten minutes on this step. Transfer tofu cubes to a bowl. Add the cornstarch, olive oil, and soy sauce. Gently toss the pieces in the coating. You don’t need to get everything perfectly covered, just enough to cover the items.
- Prepare rice: Cook the rice according to the package instructions.
- Roast the Tofu: Transfer the tofu to a baking sheet and roast it for 20-25 minutes. Stirring once or twice will help to ensure that the tofu is evenly browned.
- Prepare the Sauce: Combine Yum Yum sauce with chili crisps in a small dish.
- Tofu and sauce: After the tofu has been cooked, mix it with a few tablespoons of dressing. Reserve some spice on the top.
- Serving: You can serve this with rice, noodles, salads, or any other food you want. If you like, top the dish with green onions and extra sauce. This is delicious!
